Annual Fundraiser on Friday, March 29, 2024

Praise belongs to Allah who guided us to His praise.

Dear Community Members Assalam-O-Alaikum WRB Alhamdulillah we have completed the 13 nights of Ramadan and getting close to the last ten nights Insha’Allah. Those who are planning to do ite’kaaf will need to be at the masjid on Saturday, March 30, 2024, before the maghrib prayers.  We pray to Allah to accept everyone’s fast. ‘And praise belongs to Allah who appointed among those roads His month, the month of Ramadan‘. Our weekly iftar/dinner are going very well and so far we have provided over 600 meals in the last week’s iftar. We have also distributed over 150 food hampers and gift cards to those in need. We are requesting everyone to register so the proper arrangements can be made. 

• Insha’Allah there will be four more weekly iftar/dinner events during the last 16 days of Ramadan  – If you want to sponsor iftar event, please let us know). Kindly register for the weekly events 
• Khatam al Quran will be on the night of 27th of Ramadan (Friday, April 5, 2024). Dessert and Sweets will be provided by the sisters of the community. There will be sahoor for those spending the 27th night at the masjid on April 6, Saturday morning at 4:00 AM
• EID AL FITR will be on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, Insha’Allah. Details of Eid program will come at later date.

Annual fundraising event will be held on Friday March 29, 2024. Insha’Allah our annual Ramadan fundraising event is scheduled for Friday on March 29, 2024 during the Friday prayers at 1:00 PM. The Muslim Society of Guelph has been working hard to serve the community in Guelph and surrounding area. Allah has blessed us so much and enabled us in 2012 to get a great space (elementary school building) and to convert part of it into a masjid in addition to Montessori and Islamic school to serve our community. Allah is always with us through great times and tough times. We are excited about the expansion of our building and how it will affect the lives of more and more people for many years to come. We are seeing our future building filled with people in various activities. Alhamdulillah, the phase III (current phase) of the construction project is well underway. We have successfully completed several milestones since the last Ramadan. However, due to the higher inflation the cost has increased significantly. We are requesting your prayers and support to realize the long awaited dream of building the first ever masjid from ground up in Guelph. Current & upcoming Construction Cost:

• Sprinkler System: $145K
• Fire Alarm: $95K
• Electric Upgrade: $150K (600  volts 400 amps Service)
• Elevator: 15K (Final payment)
• Outside Bricks & Siding: 150K
• Total Cost expected cost: $555K
• Funds needed to complete the current phase: ~$600K

Please come out and attend the fundraiser and support your masjid to prepare a better future for your next generation. JazakumAllah Khairun.   The monthly expenses to run your community Centre and organize the daily and Friday prayers are $15,000.
